Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2
Pontyclun Community Council was saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty the Queen
Our sadness at this time is shared by people across the globe, as we remember with affection and gratitude the lifetime of service given by our longest serving Monarch.
Known for her sense of duty and her devotion to a life of service, she has been an important figurehead for the UK and the Commonwealth during times of enormous social change.
She saw public and voluntary service as one of the most important elements of her work and had links – as Royal Patron or President – with over 600 charities, military associations, professional bodies and public service organisations.
The mood of our great Nation and local community at this time is one of calm contemplation and thoughtfulness.
